The Asiatic Society of Mumbai is delighted to announce the launch of its digital library initiative Granth Sanjeevani on 15 January 2018. It aims to provide access to the Society’s valuable resources including newspapers, manuscripts, Government publications, journals and books which are free from copyright restrictions. It is envisaged that Granth Sanjeevani will eventually host all the unique collections of the Society.

Granth Sanjeevani can be accessed from anywhere in the world and users can browse and search the website without registration. Registered subscribers can access and read material hosted on Granth Sanjeevani on the payment of an annual fee.

Resources will be continually added to Granth Sanjeevani in the coming months and years. Some of the unique resources it currently hosts include an almost complete run of the Bombay Chronicle (1913-1959), and select volumes from nineteenth-century Bombay newspapers: the Bombay Courier, the Bombay Gazette and the Bombay Times. Nearly two thousand manuscripts and ten thousand books from the Society collection are available to researchers on Granth Sanjeevani. Government publications and reports from the nineteenth century can also be accessed.

The subscription of Granth Sanjeevani is priced at  2,400/- per annum. Discounts are available for members of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai.
