Appeal for donation towards MM Dr. P.V. Kane Postal Stamp

The Asiatic Society of Mumbai had initiated the process of getting a Commemorative Postal Stamp on MM Dr. P.V. Kane on his 50th Death Anniversary, which falls on 18 April 2022. It was felt that this was an honour which was long overdue, considering his erudite research, for which he was awarded the Bharat Ratna.

We have now received a communication from the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, Government of India, approving this request. However, this entails a major expense to the tune of Rs.6 Lakh. The payment has to be made within the next 15 days.  We are, therefore, seeking donations from members and well-wishers to enable us to meet this expense.  The mode of payment is given below:
