N O T I C E

The Ministry of Culture, Government of India, invites nominations/applications for the award of Fellowships and Scholarships in the Scheme component of Tagore National Fellowship for Cultural Research (TNFCR) for 2019-2020 under the Scheme of Scholarship and Fellowship for Promotion of Art and Culture. The Scheme is open to both Indian and foreign nationals.

The scheme has two categories of Awards –

i) ‘Tagore National Fellows’ (The selected candidates will be paid an honorarium of Rs. 80,000/- per month and allowances). Up to 15 awards are given in a year in this category.

ii) ‘Tagore Research Scholars’ (The selected candidates will be paid an honorarium of Rs.50,000/- per month and allowances). Under this category, up to 25 awards are given in a year.

Candidates may submit their application, prepared according to the prescribed guidelines of the Scheme, to the Asiatic Society of Mumbai, which is one of the Nodal Institutions, depending upon the area of research proposed to be undertaken. The list of nodal institutions along with the other relevant details of the Scheme and application form are available on the website of the Ministry - www.indiaculture.nic.in and Nehru Memorial Museum and Library – www.nehrumemorial.nic.in under the Scheme Head of the website.

The application should be sent directly to the respective Nodal Institutions (The Asiatic Society of Mumbai) on or before 30 July, 2021 (up to 5.30 p.m.). The applicants are not required to send copy of their application to Ministry of Culture or Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML). Applications received after the prescribed date and time will be summarily rejected.
