The Literary Club of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai cordially invites you for the release of ”Musalmani Mulukhatil Musaphari", a travelogue written in 1931 by Sripad Ramchandra Tikekar. It will be released by Mr. S.G. Kale, President of the Asiatic Society of Mumbai, on Tuesday, 16th April, 2019, at 5.30 p.m. in the Durbar Hall of the Society.
This is a 90- year old rare book republished by Inking innovations. It is not merely a travelogue but a socio - political documentation of people and places, written in a lucid and lively manner after Mr. S. P. Tikekar had travelled to Peshavar, Quetta, Tehran, etc. as a special correspondent of the Kesari newspaper. These are places that were not on the popular travel map. This travelogue may be the first of its kind in Marathi.
Dr. Maneesha Tikekar has provided a scholarly introduction to the new edition of the book along with extensive notes, thus making it more reader friendly. She will present the book along with her comments and explanations.
Do join us for tea at 5.00 p.m.
