The Asiatic Society of Mumbai Literary Club ASM LitClub Launch of a book in Marathi titled “Albert Camus: Navya Kshitijancha Shodh" edited by Alok Oak, on Monday, 1st April, 2019, at 5.30 p.m. in the Durbar Hall of the Society. The book, published by Padmagandha Prakashan, carries 13 research papers by scholars of international repute who look at the various facets of Camus’ works. The articles carry a sustained enquiry into the philosophical and literary value of Camus’ writings which span his novels, plays, philosophical tracts and miscellaneous articles. The book also carries the reprint of two of Sartre's essays on Camus and one article by Prabhakar Padhye. All the articles have been translated into Marathi and the book, as it stands, is the first scholarly text on Camus in Marathi. Various scholars will comment on the book and reflect on the writings of Albert Camus, the eminent French writer of the 20th Century.
