About the series
Mumbai's history is known in granular detail with respect to its British-built town within the former fort walls. However, the 'native' town and suburbs that also form part of the city's rich history are not well-known. This series brings together four experts who have studied the city beyond the fort - Kaiwan Mehta, Sarover Zaidi, Ramesh Babu and Alisha Sadikot. Explore the lanes and stories of Kalbadevi, Bhuleshwar, Dongri, Bhendi Bazaar, Mazagon and Byculla in this 8-part lecture series. Participants will be emailed a link to join the series WhatsApp group. Zoom links will be shared in that group.

Schedule

15 & 16 February - Kaiwan Mehta on Bhuleshwar and Kalbadevi
17 & 18 February - Sarover Zaidi on Dongri & Bhendi Bazaar
21 & 22 February - Ramesh Babu on Mazagon
23 & 24 February - Alisha Sadikot on Byculla
