ASM LitClub Lecture by Dr. S.S. Dhaktode
on his book "Thomas Jefferson and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar"
on Tuesday 20th November, 2018, at 5.30 p.m.
The ASM Lit Club cordially invites you to a lecture by Dr. S.S. Dhaktode on his book "Thomas Jefferson and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar" on Tuesday, 20th November, 2018, at 5.30 p.m.
This is a comparative study of the two eminent political thinkers, an unusual and interesting subject which gives fresh insights into the minds of these two great leaders.
Why did he decide to compare two statesmen of different eras? They both had very different personalities, they came from different backgrounds. One belonged to an affluent family, the other came from an underprivileged milieu. However, they both served humanity and both had great compassion for human suffering. At a critical time in history, both gave direction to their nation and to the citizens. On this occasion, we will also hear about the life and times of Thomas Jefferson and Dr. Ambedkar.
Dr. Dhadkode did his M.Sc and Ph.D. from Bombay University, having completed his undergraduate studies earlier in Poona. He retired as Principal of Siddharth College in Mumbai. Previously, he had been a Research Associate Professor at the State University of New York in Buffalo and a Research Scholar in Kyoto, Japan. He has studied many languages, including German, Russian and Japanese and has delivered lectures in Japan, Italy and Mauritius.
Dr. Dhaktode is the author of "Human Rights and Indian Constitution" - the enduring legacy of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He has been a Member of many prestigious national and international committees.
